multiple drop down lists

7 years 1 month ago #6813 by dovecosa
dear staff, before to proceed to buy the gold ADS manager I need to know for sure if it's possible to configure a search module in order to manage multiple dependent drop down lists, to understand each other I mean that...

I need to choose between several main categories, having a lot of subcategories each one, though I need to select the subcategory in a second drop down dependent on the choise made on the first one

Than, once chosen the main category and his eventual sub... I need to localize the search passing through 3 more drop down lists, one for the region, one for the province and the last one for the municipality. Having 110 regions and more than 60 thousand municipalities it's obviolusly necessary to base the drop down over database tables. I use mysql.

In few words, I need a module with 6 fields, a free text one (textbox) and 5 dropdowns, 2 for categories and 3 for locations.

I hope I made myself clear, Looking forward for your final confirmation,

Thanks in advance for your support, Roberto Pampalone

Yes you can do that, there is cascade categories
+ cascade dropdowns (for fields like municipalites, region,...)
You can point the dropdown to your own table which contains your municipalities (instead of entering manually in the field options the values.
