Updating 3.0.4 to 3.1.5 from the backend doesn't work. Does this version require a manual update?

Also, I'm seeing some mail issues in this forum with 3.1.5. I'm not sure if this would affect me or not. Have these issues been resolved?

Still having trouble with this.

I realized that my subscription was out of date so I subscribed again. My download ID is in place but updating through the Joomla updater in the backend still gives an error.

I created a backup of all of my files.

Then, I downloaded AdsManager Gold 3.1.5 to replace 3.0.4. When manually updating through the Joomla updater, the page returns a 404 for my home page and my admin page after clicking the update button.

Obviously I quickly restored the files from my backup. Tried again and got the same result.

Also strange, when I look at the version number for the component, it now says 3.1.5 which is not possible since the files are from the backup which was version 3.0.4. Joomla admin also no longer shows that there is an update for the component.

Any help would be appreciated. This site was compromised a few weeks ago which is one reason that I wanted to stay current with the latest version. The compromise didn't involve AdsManger I don't think.
