Reciving 1064 error when no category selected was created by mrainone7@gmail.com
When creating an ad in adsmanager without specifying a category, I am redirected to an error page with the following 1064 error -

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1 SQL=INSERT INTO #__adsmanager_adcat(adid,catid) VALUES (110,)

Is there a way to avoid this. For instance if a user creates an ad without a specifying a category could they receive a simple breadcrumbs error instead of redirecting to a the 1064 error page? Or is there a way to allow submitting without a category? Just to note I am using multiple category submissions if that matters. Any advice? Thanks.

Hello,

Usually, it is impossible to add an ad without category.
Could you tell me which category display type you are using ?

Best regards.

Replied by mrainone7@gmail.com on topic Reciving 1064 error when no category selected
Hello,

Thanks for the support.

The issue I am experiencing is when I allow only 1 category selection, if they do not select a category they receive a "THIS FIELD IS REQUIRED" message below the category field upon ad submission. This is fine because they need to select a category

However when I allow multi category selection, if they do not select a category upon ad submission they are redirected to a new page with an error that reads "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1 SQL=INSERT INTO #__adsmanager_adcat(adid,catid) VALUES (110,) "

Is there a way to receive the "THIS FIELD IS REQUIRED" message with mutli category selection? I am using cascading dropdowns, but I think that iss only relevant with a single category selection.

Thanks again.

Hello,

You may have a javascript conflict on the edit page, I do not have that error because I can't send the form if I don't select a category.

Best regards.
