Every time I press save when i am editing a banner in the component section, the "publish up" date gets incremented by 3 hours on its own. Perhaps it has something to do with date parsing and GMT time. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Hello,

In the configuration of Joomla, you can select a server Timezone.
It affects the date fields.

You can change it to UTC if you don't want that modification.

Best regards.

Hello,

I've tested with both UTC and local timezone. Same behavior. Both times the publish up date gets changed to +3 hours on every save.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

The problem is caused by Joomla, it fix the time difference by doing that.
I don't know why even when the timzone is set to UTC, you still have that problem.

Did you try other components ? Do you have the same problem ?

Best regards.

Hello,

After some digging I found the following:

You are using the following xml specification for the field
<field name="publish_up" type="calendar"
			label="COM_BRUCE_FIELD_PUBLISH_UP_LABEL" description="COM_BRUCE_FIELD_PUBLISH_UP_DESC"
			class="inputbox" format="%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S" size="22"
			filter="user_utc" />

According to the joomla documentation: docs.joomla.org/Calendar_form_field_type

"The calendar form field type provides a text box for entry of a date."

So it appears that this field type does not support time.

The only solution would be to create a custom datetime field.

Thank you!
