Hi,
It looks like ads are counted more than once in "All messages" when there are published in several categories?

Would this be possible to fix this bug?
until this is released in the next drop, this would be fantastic to share the hotfix in this forum :-)

what do you call "all messages" ?

Depending on the use case it's not wrong to double count the same ads

if you have a main category and two sub cats, ad is published in both

you will display
subcat(1) subcat 2 (1)
what do you want to display for "parentcat" (2) or (1) I really think 2 is better.

I meant "All Ads" sorry,

I understand your logic because it is consistant when doing the math with numbers, however it looks strange when the user counts the number of ads in the list "All Ads":

example:
cat1 -> subcat1 (1) AAA
cat1 -> subcat2 (1) BBB
cat2 -> subcat1 (1) AAA
cat2 -> subcat2 (1) CCC

All Ads (4)
- AAA
- BBB
- CCC

the counter is 4 ads, however, the user can only see 3 ads ... and the question I already got 3 times (from my users): "Where is the fourth one?"

Looking at the way around:
If I see "All Ads (3)" and if I see the counter in each category as above, I would wonder at first "why?", but I would say : "the same Ad must appear more than once in several cat then"...

What do you think?

Idea:
I would then display +1 after the category's name in the compact view to show this ad appears in other category.

What I think is that there is no perfect solution.

Maybe we should display two times the ad in the list as the ad is present in 2 categories.

But right now. I will not change the code.
Because if your site is getting more traffic, you will have soon 100 or 1000 ads, then noone will "count" the number of ads.
so the number of ads is not really "used" at the top level, but at the sublevel to know if there are ads or not (and if there is large number of ads)
