Hello.

During the posting stage, I would like to have the following features, which I believe should be possible with a little bit of direction-ing. From creating a new field in field management, I don't understand the "Parent Conditional Field". I assumed it should support the following feature.

- Create a drop down of US States.
- Depending on the state that you select, the next drop-down field will display the cities within the state.

Is this possible with "Parent Conditional Field"?
If not, how can i make this happen for the
Posting new Ad and Search Ad sections.

Please help

Hello, this is not conditionnal feature but cascading.

Create a first dropdown field (Us states)
then create a cascade field (list of cities). for each cities you will set the state.

In the options of the field, you need to specify the name of the parent field.

You can choose to use Ajax to load the data.
If you choose yes, the child dropbox field will be displayed without a page reload, otherwise, the page will be reloaded.

Then, you need to set the values of the field to cascade on, you can fill these values the same way as you would for the parent field.

When users select a value of the parent field, all children who cascade on that value will be displayed.

Hey Tom!

I'm having trouble with the cascade fields. It doesn't seem to work for me.

I tried my best to follow the steps you have provided.

1. Create a drop down(single select) field.
2. Then I created a cascade field which parent conditional field would the drop down field.

I'm getting the following issues:

My drop down field and cascade field will display during posting ad page.
The cascaded field does not show the available values when the parent value of the drop down field is selected. The cascade field shows blank.
When i select a different value from the parent drop down, the cascaded field does disappear.

I hope this makes sense. Please let me know, I can also send you the link for back-end review.

Hello,

Just to be sure your problem don't come from a bad configuration.

Did you fill the 'Parent field name' correctly with the name of you list of states ?

Did you correctly fill the 'Parent value' for each option of your list of towns in the cascade field configuration ?

If the answer for this 2 questions is yes, Did you have a search module with the parent field and the cascade field in your page ?
