First may I say thanks for sharing your versatile component with the Joomla! community. I have a site is currently running Joomla Core 2.5.19 and Adsmanager 2.9.10.

I also have a duplicate of my site, as a test site, on the same a live server as my main site to make sure any Joomla updates function properly before being installed on my main site. The test site runs on a 2 day advertising cycle with your component. This allows me to see if 5 admin e-mails I have configured to inform an advertiser are functioning after an update. These are:

E-mail to a user when their advert is in a queue for validation
E-mail to a user when their advert has been validated
E-mail to a user when their advert has been updated
E-mail to a user of an expiration notice for their advert
E-mail to a user that their advert has expired

Everything was working well up to and with Adsmanager version 2.9.8 and after this only the expiration notice e-mail and the expiration e-mail are NOT sent automatically. I have not changed any Adsmanager configurations and if I reinstall Adsmanager version 2.9.8 everything functions normally. So I believe there is no problem with my web host’s server. Do you know what the problem could be?

What is unusual is that if an advert (after Adsmanager version 2.9.8.) on the website is clicked on and the advert’s validity is now within the days of the “Number of days before expiration to send notification” (as configured under the Expiration tab for AdsManager Options) the expiration e-mail is sent immediately. Additionally, adverts that have expired and should be deleted automatically are not and only clicking on the advert removes it from the site and then an expiration e-mail is sent automatically.

The only additional configuration you have added to AdsManager Options (after Adsmanager version 2.9.8.), where I see a change, is under the General tab “Admin - Email - ad queued for validation.” Does this have an effect on expiration e-mails not being sent?

Please provide a solution to this problem as the automated e-mail service is vital to keep advertisers informed without constant monitoring.

Thanks for you reply. Yes! The "Email Admin" and "Name Admin" configuration fields under the General Tab are set (populated) and have remain unchanged from the AdsManager 2.9.8 version, when everything was working properly. Any version of AdsManager above the 2.9.8 version, the problem of expiration e-mails being sent and automatic deletion of ads after their expiration date does not happen, in the backend or frontend of the site!

Could you see if you have this problem on your own server that you use for testing? I repeat everything is normal up to and with AdsManager 2.9.8 version, because if I reinstall AdsManager 2.9.8 version there are no problems.
