Hello again
I am trying to get acymailing working properly and cannot get it to display just a few lines of text with a read more link.
At the moment, when I select a tag in acy mailing thats an ads manager ad, it displays all the text in the newsletter which is not what i need.
I have searched their forum but all i can find is the simple setup instructions for the ads manager plugin which refer to "use read more link if you have one"
It seems I do not have one so I need to know from you is it possible to create one?
I have tried read more in JCE editor which does not work.
Any suggestions??

Hello,

Are you trying to add a read more link for the ads of AdsManager ?
If I understand correctly it displays the full description of the ads ?

It is displaying the full description and I would like to display just a short description with read more

You need to custom the acymailing plugin to do that - plugins/acymailing/adsmanager/adsmanager.php.

The description is added at the line 589.

I can find that file and line but Unfortunately, I dont have the skill to write the custom code.
Can you tell me what the code I should remove and what I should replace it with?

Hello,

you need to do like in the list view of adsManager.

replace

$result .= $ad->ad_text;

$ad_text = strip_tags(str_replace ('<br />'," ",$ad->ad_text));
                $af_text = JString::substr($ad_text , 0, 100);
                if (strlen($ad_text)>100) {
                    $af_text .= "[...]";
                }
$result .= $af_text ;

Change the 100 if you wish to change the number of characters.
